Pennsylvania contractor software
HICPA-ready.
Pennsylvania has roughly 110,000 registered home-improvement contractors, concentrated in Philadelphia metro, Pittsburgh, Lehigh Valley, and the central-PA suburbs. The HICPA registration is strict — operating without it can trigger Attorney General enforcement and civil penalties up to $1,000 per occurrence.
HOW DOES SENKU
HANDLE PA LICENSING?
PA Attorney General — Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (HICPA)
PA requires registration with the Attorney General under HICPA for any home-improvement contractor doing more than $5,000 of work per year. Senku surfaces your PA HIC registration number, your general liability minimum ($50,000 person / $50,000 property), and the statutory 3-day right-to-cancel notice on every contract.
Settings has dedicated fields for your license number, bond information, and insurance details. Once entered, they appear on every estimate, in the customer portal footer, and on the generated PDF contract — so your customer sees the compliance posture before they have to ask.
WHAT MAKES
PA DIFFERENT?
The 3-day right to cancel
PA law gives the consumer a 3-business-day right to cancel any home-improvement contract over $25. The notice has to be prominent, has to use specific statutory language, and has to be on the contract the customer signs — not buried in an attachment. Senku's customer-portal contract template includes the right-to-cancel language inline and tracks the 3-day window automatically.
WHAT DO PA
CONTRACTORS ASK?
DOES SENKU DISPLAY MY PA HIC REGISTRATION NUMBER?
Yes. Once you enter your PA HIC number in Settings, it appears on every estimate, in the customer portal footer, and in the generated PDF. This is required by HICPA on contracts.
DOES SENKU INCLUDE THE 3-DAY RIGHT-TO-CANCEL NOTICE?
Yes. Every contract generated by Senku for a PA tenant includes the statutory right-to-cancel notice in the language required by HICPA. The 3-business-day window is tracked from the date the customer signs.
CAN SENKU HANDLE THE $1,000 DEPOSIT LIMIT?
PA limits deposits to one-third of the contract price for jobs $5,000 and above. Senku's deposit-request flow respects configurable percentage caps — you can set your max deposit to 33% to stay HICPA-compliant.
IS SENKU USABLE FOR SOLO PHILLY-AREA PAINTERS / REMODELERS?
Yes. The Starter plan ($15/mo) covers most solo Philadelphia, Allentown, or Lancaster contractors — unlimited estimates, customer portal, email sending. Free plan covers smaller operations.
