New York contractor software
NYC + upstate.
New York is two contractor markets in one. NYC and the five boroughs are dominated by remodeling and high-end interiors with tight licensing enforcement; upstate NY is closer to a Pennsylvania-style market — single-family work, lower price points, county-level licensing. Senku is built to handle either workflow.
HOW DOES SENKU
HANDLE NY LICENSING?
NYC DCWP (Department of Consumer and Worker Protection) + county-level registrations
NY licensing varies sharply by region — NYC requires a DCWP Home Improvement Contractor license, Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island require their own registrations, Westchester and Rockland have their own programs, and most upstate counties require county-level registration. Senku has space for whichever ID applies to your service area.
Settings has dedicated fields for your license number, bond information, and insurance details. Once entered, they appear on every estimate, in the customer portal footer, and on the generated PDF contract — so your customer sees the compliance posture before they have to ask.
WHAT MAKES
NY DIFFERENT?
NYC permit-and-license density
NYC contractors juggle DCWP licensing, DOB permits, sometimes BSA approvals — and customers check every one before signing. Senku surfaces your DCWP HIC number prominently, lets you note permit numbers in line items, and produces contracts that meet DCWP's required disclosures.
WHAT DO NY
CONTRACTORS ASK?
DOES SENKU HANDLE NYC DCWP LICENSING DISPLAY?
Yes. Settings has a dedicated field for the NYC DCWP Home Improvement Contractor license number, which appears on every estimate, customer-portal footer, and contract PDF. Required for any NYC home-improvement work.
CAN SENKU PRODUCE DCWP-COMPLIANT CONTRACTS?
Senku's contract template includes the required DCWP disclosures — contractor name, license number, project description, total price, and the consumer-rights notice. Always verify with your attorney for high-value projects.
IS SENKU USABLE FOR UPSTATE NY CONTRACTORS WITH COUNTY-LEVEL REGISTRATION?
Yes. The license-number field accepts any identifier — DCWP, Nassau / Suffolk County HIC, Westchester registration, or upstate county-level registration. The label is configurable, so it reads correctly to your customer regardless of region.
DOES SENKU HANDLE NY'S 3-DAY RIGHT-TO-CANCEL?
Yes. Like Pennsylvania, NY requires a 3-day right-to-cancel notice on home-improvement contracts. Senku's contract template includes the statutory language and tracks the cancellation window from the customer's signature date.
