California contractor software
CSLB-ready.
California has roughly 290,000 active CSLB licenses across A (general engineering), B (general building), and 40+ C-series specialty trades. The market is enormous, the licensing is strict, and customers know to ask for your license number before they sign.
HOW DOES SENKU
HANDLE CA LICENSING?
Contractors State License Board (CSLB)
California requires a CSLB license for any contracting job over $500. Senku surfaces your license number, classification (A / B / C-XX), bond information, and workers compensation insurance on every estimate and customer-portal page automatically.
Settings has dedicated fields for your license number, bond information, and insurance details. Once entered, they appear on every estimate, in the customer portal footer, and on the generated PDF contract — so your customer sees the compliance posture before they have to ask.
WHAT MAKES
CA DIFFERENT?
The license-number ask
Every legitimate California customer asks for your CSLB number before signing. Most contractor software treats this as a setting you fill in once and forget. Senku surfaces it prominently on the estimate, the customer portal, and the PDF — so the customer never has to ask, and you never look like you forgot.
WHAT DO CA
CONTRACTORS ASK?
DOES SENKU DISPLAY MY CSLB LICENSE NUMBER ON ESTIMATES?
Yes. Once you enter your CSLB license number in Settings, it appears on every estimate header, in the customer portal footer, and in the generated PDF. Customers see it before they have to ask, which shortens the trust cycle.
CAN SENKU HANDLE THE $500 CONTRACT-VALUE RULE?
Yes. California requires a written contract for any job over $500. Senku produces a digitally-signed contract via the customer portal that meets CA written-contract requirements, including the contractor name, license number, project scope, and price.
DOES SENKU INTEGRATE WITH CALIFORNIA-SPECIFIC PAYMENT RULES?
California limits down payments to 10% of the contract price or $1,000 (whichever is less) for most residential work. Senku's deposit-request flow respects this — you can configure a max deposit percentage and the system will not let you ask for more than your limit allows.
IS SENKU USABLE FOR SOLO CA CONTRACTORS WITH A C-XX LICENSE?
Yes. Senku's free and Starter ($15/mo) plans cover most C-XX specialty solo workflows — paint (C-33), roofing (C-39), plumbing (C-36), electrical (C-10), HVAC (C-20). Trade-specific features (material catalog, labor rates, AI line items) work across all C licenses.
